Ting-Shaun Huang

Hello. I'm Ting-Shuan

I was born in Taoyuan City, raised in Taipei, and spent my childhood near one of Taiwan’s busiest international airports, where the constant flow of travelers sparked my curiosity for other cultures from a young age. This exposure shaped my appreciation for the diverse aesthetics I encountered abroad, particularly in Japan, whose design philosophy blends tradition with modernity in a way that deeply resonates with me. The Japanese approach of simplifying complexity to create calm, functional spaces is a principle I incorporate into my own work. Whether designing digital interfaces or crafting personal projects like crochet pieces, I aim to create experiences that are intuitive, aesthetically pleasing, and grounded in simplicity.

With a Master’s in Information, specializing in Interactive Design and Informatics from Rutgers University, and a Bachelor’s in Information Technology and Arts, I bring both technical proficiency and creative insight to my projects. My professional work spans UI/UX and graphic design, where I focus on enhancing readability and engagement through thoughtful information architecture. Brands like MUJI inspire my minimalist approach, as I believe that good design should feel effortless and bring clarity and pleasure to users.

Beyond work, I’m passionate about sustainability and the role of data in user-centered design, exploring how these can be integrated to make meaningful real-world impacts. I stay up-to-date with design trends by following design accounts and connecting with others, and in my free time, I enjoy creating digital art, handcrafting, and improving my Japanese. Fluent in English and Mandarin, I see design as a seamless integration of beauty and functionality that enhances daily life.
